It is with great sadness the family announces Harry’s passing at age 92, in Fremont, Michigan, on October 25, 2019. He passed peacefully after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s, which he fought valiantly. Harry was born on May 31, 1927 in Gary, Indiana. He moved to Michigan as a teenager and lived and worked the rest of his life in the Newaygo area. Harry was a much loved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife Shirley, his daughters Nancy Blok-Andersen, Teresa Blossom and husband Steve Blossom, Kimberly Phillips and husband Clayton Phillips, Pamela McCloskey and son Darryll Hall and wife Michelle Hubbard. Also survived by his loving grandchildren, Katie O’Dell and husband Patrick O’Dell, Douglas Blossom, Sarah Short and husband Greg Short, Jeffrey Blossom, Miles Phillips and wife Brittany Phillips, Darren Phillips, Brent Dawe, River McCloskey, Melissa Burns, Phillip Hall and wife Laura Hall. Harry is also survived by 18 wonderful great grandchildren. The family would like to welcome friends to join us for a light luncheon at the VFW in Newaygo, Michigan on November 9, from noon to 2pm in celebration of Harry’s life. Harry loved his life, his friends and his community and he will be greatly missed. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Association would be appreciated.
